Lo Bundy Watch: Day Two

On a day when The Big Fish continued to elude Josh Byrnes, our boyish GM angled in on bottom feeders, and hooked one Chinaman's favorite small fry, Octavio Ojeda. Ojeda brings three critical attributes to the team: defensive versatility, a propensity to take pitches, and an uncanny ability to make Miguel Montero look taller for trade purposes.

No additional word on this winter's blockbuster, the hot pursuit of 6'2" 205 lb Philadelphia phenom, Lo Bundy. Last we heard, Byrnes (with full support of Dbacks brass) had petitioned the Los Angeles Dodgers for permission to speak with Bundy's people, but after the chippy Mark Loretta bidding war, it's unclear whether LA granted that request.

Bundy, who hit "well" in Mexico and later managed the Albuquerque Isotopes, kicked Bobby Bonilla's sorry ass upside the 1983 Carolina League. Despite less playing time than the most favored Pirate prospect, Bundy led their Alexandria Dukes in homers and RBIs, and is generally acknowledged to have played the game the right way.
