Backin' Blackley

As if snaring southpaw standouts Felipe Lopez and Lo Bundy wasnt enough, the Dbacks boldly announced the acquisition of left handed slugger, Travis Blackley, a lifetime .333 batter in the major leagues.

The 26 year old native Melbournite also hits 1.000 when leading off innings, 743 points higher than last year's leadoff batter, Chris Young, under similar circumstances. In the unlikely event Blackley doesnt meet expectations from the left side of the dish, the team is looking to resign Big Tony Clark, for some reason.

The surprisingly affordable Blackley has started for both the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants, but most recently preferred to play with the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, where he hit .429, inspiring them to a memorable, record setting season.
